specific effect help needed.

hi.

i'm looking to re-create certain effects in this trailer for halo 3.

certain parts of it, like the glowing bars and such arent an issue, this part however,

and

are causing me a great deal of stress because i cant figure out how to recreate it.

i slowed it down in the video posted above, i thought it could possibly be the particular plugin from trapcode with a custom particle.

maybe i dont enough of the program to be able to do it, any help in recreating it would be appreciated.

i wonder if you try playing with a displacement map for the text...find or making something really funky. and also layer it with a "scatter" like effect to break up the text into blocks or pieces.

check out the tinder tools plug ins as well..they make a video noise plugin that might get you something like this.

That looks like a combination of either Particles (and specifically Cinema 4D's Storm Tracer plugin), Displacement maps, and/or hard body dynamics. Though the pieces look flat, and almost look like they are being triggered by something like Sound Keys.

It also looks like there is a little time remapping in there.
