spec spots/ public service announcement's

[aaron_wade]

could i shoot a spot for nike, or any other well known brand, and add it to my reel to shop around? even though no ad agency or the company itself hired me? any other advice on making commercials or psa's?

thanks.

Re: spec spots/ public service announcement's

I think as long as you don't represent yourself by saying I shot this ad for so and so when I worked for so and so agency. A lot of well known directors have shot spec commercials to showcase there skills and idea's it's not a new thing.....
