Speakers and montr for FCP

Anyone with experiences on hooking up monitor speakers and a NTSC mont. to their G-5?

I assume I need to use a normal amp like the type everyone has for TV/VCR/DVD, for the speakers. Should it be one with the optical audio inputs that can plug into the G5's optical out?

I'd rather not have to hook up my camera to see the final footage on the TV/mont.. Is there something that will convert the G-5's output to the line-in (BNC) input on the TV?

Thanks!

I use a MOTU audio interface connected to my G5. I run powered monitors off that. For a production monitor, I run through a cheap handicam, to bring my signal to the monitor.

your audio and monitor should be going through your DECK or camera. The begining pages of the FCP manual #1 have pretty good diagrams on setting up, requires a slow, careful reading.

Audio that has been captured should be going through a proper audio interface and then fed to powered monitors.
