Spartacus: Blood & Sand

Can someone tell me how you go about getting the same dramatic slow motion shots they use in the new TV series SPARTACUS: blood & Sand. Its the same type effects used in the Movie "300". I am sure they use high speed cameras but what else do they do in post?

On this show they shoot with the phantom camera to get the super slo motion. I'm don't know too much about the phantom gold other than to buy a package will cost you 117K and from the raw footage I saw coming from it did not look like it needed anything done in post to achieve the slow motion. I doubt they use twixtor or a similar program to do post work for that. But I could be wrong. From what I read they are using RED and the Phantom.

I'm a die hard viewer and started a thread on it over in the film discussion section.

You dont need to purchase the camera, you can rent it for $2500 a day from Abel Cine Tech but you are required to hire a certified technician.

If you are in the NY area I would recommend Ben Cain, very knowledgeable and fun guy to work with. Full listing can be found on the Abel website.

I understand they are using the Phantom but what else do they have to do to get the effect? It looks like its slow motion to a pause and motion graphics come into play. Does anyone know the workflow for this?

If you have a youtube sample or something of what exactly you want to know, I can have one of my compositors break it down for you.
