Space Station Colbert!

I voted for it.

Colbert rocks.

I love that man but I'm not gay because I only look at pictures of Colbert in shorts for research.

NASA would be stupid to NOT name the module after Colbert... because 1) They allowed write-in voting on their page... and 2) Colbert would give NASA more national attention and interest then anybody else ever could.*

*Guys were walking on the freakin' moon and people were so bored with it that they needed to spice it up with golfing and dune buggies.**

Oh lord, a precedent has been set. Now we can look forward to things like "Robin Williams Space Station", "Jeff Foxworthy Space Rest Area" and worse.

Just when NASA was starting to improve their image, they do this. Doh!

Obviously not a Colbert fan...

Trust me Colbert chatting up your (anything) is never bad for business.

Since NASA runs on "our" money... popularity is a good thing.

I voted too.

NASA could use some more character. Some thing a little more human. Some thing that connects them with Joe Schmoe stuck on Earth.

I don't see any problem with it. Serenity? Are you effin kidding me? Why oh why do these people go out of their way to prove beyond a shadow they are dinks?

There is nothing wrong with bringing the "common" man into the mix. Lord knows when space travel becomes feasible to all but the elitist, someone will be cooking the meals, setting up appointments, turning down the space beds, and writing insurance policies.

I'm concerned with the integrity of the ISS's orbit... what with the upcoming "Colbert Bump"

Might knock it out.

I think it's splendid. I love watching Colbert!

Exactly...

How many people across the globe would even know about the new module, or care? I might... maybe... and there are a few other people that might, but with Colbert behind it 10,000x as many people know about it.

NASA runs on government money... popular approval of government programs helps keep them going by electing reps/sens that do what their districts approve of... it's a no-brainer for NASA to go with the free promotion of it's program.

That module will be like the heart on Southwest airline's jets.

I especially love it because we were NASA VIP guests for the launch of shuttle STS-126 last November. They toured us all around the KSC and we got to go places few civilians get to go (ie. underneath Discovery, in the VAB and tour the ISS facility) Got to see it (the Cupola) up close and personal.

So... that's the closest I've ever been to Colbert... ie. greatness
(Although Neil Armstrong was a part of our group!)
