8DFM.com has created an outlet for filmmakers to showcase their work to a larger audience. SouthSlam is a day of film screenings that coincides with the SXSW Conference. In our 4th year we are dedicated to filmmakers with the vision and dedication to see their projects to completion.
We are accepting short films, feature films, music videos, documentaries, and works-in-progress.
Entry to the SouthSlam 2008 Film Festival includes:
1. Guaranteed acceptance into the SouthSlam 2008 Film Festival.
2. ALL submissions will be shown during SouthSlam 2008 on Sunday, March 9th in Austin, TX at Ringers Sports Lounge.
3. Each filmmaker who submits 1 or more films gets 2 free tickets to SouthSlam 2008 on Sunday, March 9th in Austin, TX at Ringers Sports Lounge (a $20 value!).
4. Each submission will receive credit in the Official SouthSlam 2008 Program.
5. A chance to win the SouthSlam WEBFest 2008 - Winning entries will be featured and promoted on SouthSlamFilmFest.Imeem.com.
ONLINE SUBMISSIONS
Submission to the SouthSlam Film Festival 2008 using the online submission method is quick and easy. This year we've partnered with the social networking site Imeem. They are a great place to host your video and they offer the best quality of all the video hosting services.
This is an easy and cost effective way to get your work submitted to be shown at SouthSlam 2008 without ever having to leave your computer!
To send your submission via this method:
1. Go to Imeem (dot) com and create a profile if you do not already have one - its FREE!
2. Go to 8dfm.imeem.com and add us as a friend.
3. Join the SouthSlam Film Festival group (SouthSlamFilmFest.imeem.com)
4. Upload your film to the SouthSlam Film Festival group using the upload form.
5. Email the link to your video and the SUBMISSION FORM to:
SouthSlam (at) Yahoo (dot) com
6. Pay the $30 Early Submission Fee using the PayPal link on www.SouthSlam.com. (You do not have to have a PayPal account)
HARDCOPY SUBMISSIONS
You can also submit your film using a hardcopy DVD. No other hardcopy submissions (CD, VHS, etc.) will be accepted.

Once we receive your submission you will get a confirmation email.
A second email will be sent 2 weeks prior to the event giving you the time of your showing. You will also be asked to reply with confirmation of attendance.
