Does anyone have any tips they could share when it comes to sourcing projects to work on and networking with other video/film enthusiasts?

Are there websites or places in Australia that you could recommend or approaches/methods to sourcing projects to work on or building a small team?

How are you finding your network of other skilled roles - Sound Guy, Directors, Gaffers, Actors/Actresses, etc?

At school, it is easier as most people of the same interests would be taking similar classes, but how about for those out of school?

Do you find Social Media useful in this area - Facebook, Instagram? How are you using these mediums?

Do people still collaborate together to work on no budget films, indie projects, portfolios?

Thank you.

Simple, you make friends with filmmakers. You go to screenings (if there were any during Quarantine!), you offer to work
on their shoots. You network. Social media is okay but it's hard to gauge from social media if you would want to work or
collaborate with someone. Get involved in the film community and the offers to collaborate will come to you if you work hard
and have any talent that would lend itself to filmmaking.

Not sure what things are like with current filmmaking down under but here in the states, there is a tiny core of pros actually working
on entertainment stuff but mostly, the industry is still shut down. I work in entertainment and I've done a grand total of three shoots
this year that were entertainment related. As far as student, indie filmmakers, they often work on one man band or very small crew
projects so they may all still be maing films during Quarantine, I don't know because I'm not in that space.

Use your skills to reach out to filmmakers who would want to utilize you on their projects. Can you act? Edit? Light? Write? You need to
offer something to them for them to take you into their circle besides aspiration.
