Source Audio issues

Please, please help me with this annoying issue.!

I have PPCS3 and import MXF's from my HVX200 solely. My problem is that I can only hear channel 2 when I preview my clips on the source monitor.

If go into "Source Channel Mapping" and individually select each of the 4 channels of audio that exist, I can confirm they are there and sound fine. If I drag my clip to the timeline all 4 channels of audio are present and also sound right as rain.

I should be able to hear all channels mixed while previewing in source right?.

Anyone know WTF's going on?

Why do you need 3 and 4?

What is the diference between your channnel 1 and two and how do you know you are not monitoring them?

Aren't channerls 3 & 4 the onboard mic? If so, as Shooter asked, why do you need them? I'm not sure if it combines all the sounds in each channel. I believe it does but someone else should chime in on that. I'm not 100% sure.

Good question...no I don't need 3 and 4 just 1 and 2. I know i'm only getting 1 because for my current project 2 is a wireless Lav and I have 1 turned down to almost nothing. I would love to find the adjustment (if it exists) that allows me to monitor both so i can log footage w/o dragging it to timeline. Again, when I go into "source channel mapping" there's channel 2 loud and clear...switch back to monitoring source monitor and its gone.

Thanks for the replies.

I've run into the same thing. One workaround (an ugly one at that) is in the source monitor right click and select display->audio channel... then select the desired channel and then go back to display->composit video and the channel you selected will play with the video. You still only get one channel, but at least you can control which channel.
