Hello
Recently I have bought a tascam hdp2.
But I have a great problem.
When I am recording with a micro the sound is too low, then I put the micro on the camera and it sounds perfect
What's the problem?
what can I do?
I hope that someone can help me
Thanks

is it hissy low audio or just low?
check if you have any change when you play with attunuation switch on \off

record some strong signal on your camera , play it back and connect the recorder with rca connector , check if you have normal levels of recording .

the sound is low.
But my problem is when I record with a mic, xlr connection, not rca, in this case the signal is ok.

check the switch of 20 db when you connect the mic
if it does something
we already eliminated the analog to digital converter problem
so it you mic inputs

You don't have the phantom power on or something... maybe it's a dynamic mic and on the DVX you have -60db set... which is crazy high for any normal condenser mic... and the Tascam is reading at -35db or something... check the settings as if you just got this thing.

There are only a SMALL handful of possibilities here. Mic/Line switch is wrong... 0db -20db switch is wrong... input sensitivity is set too low... or phantom mic isn't getting +48v juice at the Tascam... or it's a battery/phantom mic that's got barely enough bat to produce signal at the Tascam and it's getting full phantom at the DVX... it's got to be something simple man.

There's really nothing else it can be.

check the batteries on tascam , if they are ok , you have some problem with the input
or phantom is not correct , or you have premp failuer
take the rca out from the camera and attach it directly to the xlr input ( i hope you have a adaptor cable) , put the 20 db on , if you have normal signal level , you have phantom problem ( thats why i ask you if you have hissy sound )
you can check the same with dynamic mic .
if it doesnt work , you hav eother problem in the preamp
