Sound Soap

Has anyone used sound soap?

I was talking to a friend who was raving about it and said it was amazing at removing hiss, hum, and background noises.

I've never used it, but I looked it up online, and it looks pretty promising. I'm going to check it out.

Re: Sound Soap

Sounds cool, but is expensive. You can get Adobe Audition for that much, and it has noise reduction stuff plus a lot more. I've used it and it works great, though I can't compare it to Sound Soap as I've never used it.

Re: Sound Soap

SoundForge by Sony (Sonic Foundry original) does exactly the same thing and is over $200 cheaper than the "Pro" version of Sound Soap. I downloaded all the Before/After demo clips and was able to "repair" them to sound as well as their demo clips. I suspect the technology is probably the same. I'm just used to doing it it SoundForge. I'm sure that Sound Soap is a winner though. I guess it's just what you're used to.

Another point to consider. SoundForge 7 now includes the plug in package, that they used to sell separately, that takes care of most of the problems present in poor vinyl record recordings. Pop, clicks, growls...etc.
