For sound 1 class, we are assigned to create either two short 30 second audio clips, or a single 1 minute clip.

There were really no rules so i took the liberty of making.. wel.. you'll see.

I would appreciate all those who listen to let me know the following

1) is everything audible?

2) do you hear any clipping?

3) is it funny?

Thanks guys;)

oh, everything that you hear was recorded by yours truly, in my basement, with my shure, drum kit mics, as well as my AT4053a for the narration.

I didnt hear any clipping, but I dont have golden ears either. And my good phones/speakers are at work... My cheap phones it sounds fine on. I can hear everything clearly, music doesnt overpower the VO.

Its funny - BUT - I didnt know it was supposed to be funny when I listened first. (didnt read that part of the post), and my first reaction was how do I tell the guy he is making nickel back (or whoever that first one is) sound like crap, and then james blunt sounded ok, and plain white tees was actually laughable. After I realized then end and heard "the most annoying bands" I caught on. I think the first two bands could be more laughable though. I'd get higher and pitchier with Blunt and take that Nickelback part to even gruntier and deeper levels. Its good though. Nice work.

ya, i agree with you.

The thing about james blunt, is i didd't feel like putting in piano and all that jazz, which would be required for the chorus where he goes all high in his pitch. So right away i ruled that out. and the only thing left was a boring verse. I guess the subtle joke in there was how he squeezes too many words in one bar. But yeah, not as laughable as the rest.

Thanks for listening!

Ahh good call - yeah I forgot the high really annoying part has all that music. Heck just sing it acapella. It was almost like you sounded like you were trying to sound good. Like a bad American Idol tryout. Maybe get someone that really cant sing to do it. I know I could butcher it into oblivion without even trying it.

You have that POP radio sound down. This will come in handy if you end up working in film. Were often having to create faux commercials and "shows" because using real ones can cost a small fortune.

end up working in film. im an aspring starving actor, in film school, with few acting credits to my name. So yeah, its the direction im heading :)

Hi PaPa,

Clipped - no. Compressed, flanged, equalized - I believe so. But looking at the waveforms on my editing software, you're free from overmodulation/clipping problems.

Good job, Michael
