sound only playing out one speaker?dvx 100a

hey there ive just did 2 reinterview's with my mates to test out my camera and i plug the micaphone in to the XLR 1 and when set the ch 1 select to inpute 1 and then i put ch 2 select to input 2 and when i put the footage on the pp 3.0 it olny play out
one speaker!what am i doing wrong?

Tape CH1 records INT(L), INPUT1 or INPUT2 while Tape CH2 records either INT(R) or INPUT2 only. So if you want to record a mono signal such as a mic to both CH1 and CH2 on the tape, ie, dual-mono mode, you plug it into the INPUT2 XLR connector and set both the CH1 SELECT and CH2 SELECT switches to record from INPUT2.
