sound not even in both channels

i recorded with a rode lav into a pcm-m10.

When i open the file in adobe audition the left and right channel, the sound is louder on the r/l channel.

Why is it so you think?

to make it better, I just erase a track and copy the left track to make it even.

Do you know why it happened?

You have put a MONO mic into the stereo microphone input (according to the sony web site) of the pcm-m10, so one side of the mic signal is on the left channel and the other side is on the right channel. This is / has been a common problem with small cam-corders, if I remember correctly you need to mix both of the channels together (L+R) to get the correct signal.
