Sound level when exporting??

I finished my sound clean up and I am editing in Final Cut Pro. I am going to upload my video to some websites like youtube and funnyordie, but I was wondering what is a good general sound level (db's) Right now the average is probably about -14db and whenever I export a quicktime, it seems too low. Should I bring everything up by like 8 db's? I want it to be loud enough for the web, but not to the point where there is distortion. I have Soundtrack Pro, so can someone please give me some suggestions? Thanks!

You could probably comfortably apply a compressor/limiter to around -6db for uploading stuff to YouTube. No need for large dynamic range for the web.

Cheers

Wabbit, so can I do that in Final Cut Pro or do I have to do that in Soundtrack Pro? After I apply the compressor/limiter then what overall level should it be in Final Cut?

Thank u!
