Sound is very subjective....

Are you trying to say RC Cola is cheap?

Speaking of AKG, I think they actually make a couple really nice mics. The 480 series sounds rather nice, and the 414's, though not the most exciting, are real workhorses in my mind. The Blue Line series also seem to be a decent mic for the price -- you certainly get a lot of flexibility with those.

Back on topic. My OKtava MC012 arrived today... immediatley check for working function as one does when they buy something through international shipping. Its exactly what I have been looking for. Took it to a location and did some room sound checks, this thing is great in small low resonance rooms. My previous attempts were leaving the sound a little flat but this seems a little more lively. Very happy I added it to the collection. Anyone in Japan who shoots in small houses/apartment etc such as I, grab it, its a gem. Incidently I did an ambience test outside also, without the windjammer it suffers terribly, put it on and the sound is also a good addition. May even use this for wide ambience next month.
