Hey everyone - we're about to start shooting a feature film towards the latter part of March, it's going to be shot in two waves, off and on over the last 10 days or so of March, and then on weekends in April (maybe a few odd weekeday evenings).
This is a "zero budget" feature, so there would not be monetary compensation (or very little), however we will be feeding the crew and we are willing to agree to a deferred gross % in case the film is ever sold.
We're going to be working with a very small crew due to the nature of the production, myself who will be DP'ing and directing, and a PA (or 2) for things like holding bounce cards and other aspects of production. I do need a "sound guy" however, it's all very straightforward setups and I'm looking for someone who can operate a boom and monitor levels as a one-man team, I'm open to speaking with anyone who has experience and is perhaps looking to build up their reel, or simply do a fun side project and getting credit for it. But I am specifically looking for someone who has a real interest and some knowledge about sound recording - I have some but I can't do it all.
We do have decent gear, however if you are a pro who has your own gear and wants to use that - that works too (I'm just guessing most pros aren't going to be interested in working for free (or just a few hundred bucks) on a feature).
We've got:
Fostex FR-2LE
Rode NTG-3 Shotgun
Rode NT-3 Hyper
Rode Blimp Suspension System/Shock Mount
K-Tek Boom
Sennheiser HD280 Pro Headphones for Monitoring
This will be shot in or around the Boston, MA area. Students are welcome to PM me too - I have no problem using a student (or multiples) so long as the student is actually interested in sound recording and has worked on projects in a similar capacity before. I just don't want to be that producer who thinks he can hand over sound-duty to any PA that shows up and is capable of holding the pole, that's not what I'm after.
