has anyone used any sound effects from online sound libraries? i found a couple that had free downloads, but i figured they were poor quality. some you had to pay for to download, which i'd do if the quality was worth it. anyone have any experience with this?

FX are all over the map. Free sound has generally high quality recordings and they are free. But sound files are pretty large so if your downloading MP3's the quality is probably pretty low. There have been other threads on this but the short version is that if your looking for "Hollywood" SFX it's more about the editing than the sound AND your not going to find many of those sounds either. Any decent film records a lot of FX and creates a bunch more. But any given "sound" in a film will be made up of many layers.
