Sound Effects

Not sure where to post this but since it has to do with audio I am posting here. Anyone know where I can locate online or somewhere the sound of a batter hitting a baseball toward left field and have the announcer basically say something like "It's hit hard to left field" or something like that. I am working with a client on a promo video in which her CD is called Left Field.

it might be kind of difficult to get all of that in one sound effect. However, that would take no time to put together with multiple elements. All you would need is the sound of a bat hitting a ball, a crowd reaction, and a recording of an announcer. I'm sure you can find the first two on www.sounddogs.com. The announcer might be harder to find. If you can't find it, you can always record it. Then you can just load those into a DAW, process them as you need, and you have it. Shouldn't take more than a half hour or hour to put together.

Dave's right on the first two. The third is equally as easy. Any day on cable or satellite are reruns of baseball games. There's your crowd noise and and just sit and wait for someone to hit a ball to left. There's your announcer.

Might get into copyright issues. He says he's doing this for a client. Might be better to record someone doing it, just in case you get into legal trouble down the line.

Exactly. Plus, it's much easier and quicker to get a good recording of yourself anyway.

True...well its for a singers Demo reel or promtional video that she will send to potential labels...I may just record the announcer role myself.

You never know where that demo reel will end up. Good choice to record yourself or someone you know who has that announcer like voice. If it's you you don't have to do the paperwork. Steve
