Ok, i've been all over the net looking for sound effects, stuff like swooshes and tings and all the rest of the goodies that most current film trailers use. I cant find anything that is good quality and what i'm looking for. there are free sites like
flashkit.com
findsounds.com
partnersinrhyme.com

but they mostly have the same recycled sounds. I thoguth about gettin that sony sound package but i dont want to buy it and find out that the desired sounds arent there.

if anyone out there wants to trade sounds let me know

Sound Dogs is great because you can listen to it before you buy, albeit low quality. If you are not willing to pay for sound effects, I suggest getting really good at creating your own. Some amazing things can be done by recording something and then manipulating it in post. There just isn't enough good free stuff out there because the good sound effects are done professionally.

i cut trailers for a living so i can tell you exactly what is used. if you want the collection that is most widely utilized, you'll want to get the Hollywood Edge Sound Designer's Toolkit. $460 gives you license to use them all, anytime.

beyond that, you are getting into very expensive collections. for example, the Robert Etoll FX run $500 per use. most top trailer editors also keep a custom designed arsenal of exclusive FX as a selling point for clients.
