Sound Devices Mix Pre

I Just got a new mix pre. When I switch between monitor input and tape return I can hear the clicking in the headphones. Any other mix pre owners out there that can let me know if it's normal to hear that? I have a PSC mixer that does not make any audible noise when I switch monitor sources. Thanks!!

That doesn't seem like a big problem. It's only monitoring, and depending on what's coming out of the camera the click could be that you are hearing the difference in signal levels. You should be only monitoring the camera while working anyway, so you know your signal is getting to the camera, and the camera isn't clipping etc. Otherwise there could be some dirt in your switch.
