Ok, I'm new to this camera, the (panasonic DVX100A) and with premiere 6.0. My problem is that when I go to capture my footage the video comes out fine but my audio is all chopped up from beginning to end. like chunks every couple of mili-seconds. The sound comes out fine through the internal speaker from the camera, but on my computer it is coming out choppy. also the footage afterwards when i listen to it is as well. I figured I should lower it down to 44100 from 48000 but that didn't do anything, I don't think the rate has anything to do with it, but then again what do i know. I have just begun to mess around with this program, but I have to get past this bridge first, after an hour of screwing around, I give up. any heads up on this? help would be awesome.. thanks. ben

Sup dog, (had to say that)
See if you can download a demo of another editing program, perhaps a newer version of Premiere and then capture your footage. If the audio turns out ok, see what the settings are in audio properties. If they turn out to be the same, more than likely it's a problem with Premiere which to be quite honest, wouldn't surprise me a bit. Good luck.

that probably took longer to type than if it was normal. :)

It could be an audio import setting. I'm not the Premier expert.

rahhhh, so you are saying premiere is beat? my copy is bootleg, it probably is the program. anyhow, I still plan on buying a program in the future when the cash is right, but for now this is what i have, and damn it, i want it to work.

Dog,
When I purchased Premiere 1.5, I got it brand new, still in the box for $225. Don't tell anyone this but the name of the site was called "Ebay."
Now on a serious note, let me warn you. When you edit 24p in Premiere 1.5, everything will be fine. However, when you export it as an AVI, the exported video will take on very similar characteristics of your current captured audio. When I found out that this choppy video was a pretty big issue with Adobe that they decided not to tell us about, I was so mad, I switched to Vegas and to be quite honest with you, I've never looked back. I have discovered several several other Premiere users on this site making the same move that I did. You can get a new version of Vegas on Ebay for pretty cheap also. Plus if you get version 5 or 6, you can use the Magic Bullet software which more than likely came with your DVX. Hope you've been enlightened. 8-)
