Hey gang, it looks like we have another mystery to solve... no, not really... I haven't been posting because I haven't felt compelled... i.e. you know how you sometimes start a reply and then think, "does this really need to be said?"... then you just click back to reading the forum?

I was doing that more and more... and in concert with full-time work... well... I haven't been around as much as I'd like, and when I am... I haven't been posting.

Never the less... I hate for this to be the first post in a while, but I just bought an extra set of cans from NEWEGG and I couldn't help thinking of all the guys who constantly asked what headphones they should get for location sound.

For me it was always a bit of a toss-up between Sony 7506s and the HD280pro (in the $100 price range)... I've been using the HD25-SP1-II... but I still like both the 7506 and the HD280pro... and I always like having a spare set around. I gave away my extra HD280pro last year to a friend.

Long story short... you're not going to beat $59.95 (shipped) for these cans... this sale lasts 24 hours... and I'll be surprised if the stock lasts that long. If you need some cans you'll probably have a hard time beating this... and I'd rather see DVXuser members get 'em if they need cans.

To put it in perspective for you... if these were the same price as the 7506, I'd probably get the 7506 instead, as I like how the Sony's collapse to a relatively tiny size... the HD280pro is kind of big, and stays big... they don't collapse down tight. Also... the 7506 is mostly metal in the actual cup material... which is nice, i.e. I like the initial fit and finish of the 7506 better. The trade-off is that the HD280pro isolates better, and has a little more neutral sound... the neutral sound part is a matter of taste, as the 7506 emphasizes the vocal range a bit, which can be helpful... but again, as the HD280pro isolates more, I find that potential advantage moot.

Anyway... I grabbed an extra set just now... and thought some here may be in the market for headphones and miss it unless somebody posted.

Hmmm... sounds like a great deal. My new HD380 Pro headsets just arrived yesterday.

The NewEgg link is currently showing a price of $99.95.

I put one in my cart and checkout redirected me to a page that said "Your cart is empty due to limited quantities..."

Well... sorry about the stock issue... that's why I posted as soon as I saw it in my email.

I knew they wouldn't last long.
