Sorenson Squeeze and Quicktime

I had recently upgraded to Quicktime 7 Pro and have been having problems compressing my QT ref file into an MPEG2 to burn to DVD. Sorenson would compress the file, but it was going much slower than ever before and then it would crash about 56% of the way through for an hour sequence from Avid.

I use Sorenson Compression Suite 4.2 and had read problems about compatibility w/ QT7. I uninstalled QT7 and downloaded QT 6.5.2 and now it works fine again.

My problem now is that itunes only works w/ QT7 and now I don't even have QT Pro anymore (QT7 Pro key doesn't work w/ QT6.5)

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
 
Yeah ... all of my compression options went to hell when I "upgraded" to QT7. I can't get a decent compression using Sorenson 3. QT7 rocks, and H.264 is dope, but most "regular" folk don't have 7 yet and complain ...

Point? I still haven't figured out what to do...
 
When using sorenson 4.0 and qt7.0.3, h264 encoding just crashed. when upgrading to sorenson 4.2 the h264 option just vanished.
Can't things get perfect soon. It's almost 40 years since we landed on the moon.
