Me too! Although I deplore Sony's practice, if it's not too expensive, I would plunge for the new XDCAM AX100. As dusty has shown, it's already a pretty good camcorder as it is!

AX100 looks really good even as it is now, but I would love XLRs, better codec and more control of the image...I wonder how much higher the price would be for those...hopefully not double!

I believe he means zooming in post in order to scale up the image without loosing quality...

Yes, I ve seen that xlr adapter http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/892383-REG/Sony_xlr_k1m_XLR_Adapter_Microphone_Kit.html...I believe its a bit expensive...
With a 100$ more I could buy something like that: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...es_MIXPRE_D_MixPre_D_Compact_Field_Mixer.html and use it with my DSLRs also....
 
I think it's certain that the upcoming XDCAM will not be 4K. SONY is pushing 4K aggressively, so I don't believe they would have left that important info out of the press release.
In the photo's, the camera doesn't have the big gold 4K badge on the side either. This will be a pro CX900 rather than a pro AX100...
