I am editing footage whose BPAV files were altered in final cut by an amateur editor. these files then had to be transcoded from the proprietary quicktime format the NLE uses to a format premiere can read. This process made teh .mxf, but its native dimensions are not those of a normal panasonic p2 recording format.
when i reference footage that is about 20 mins in and later, "importer process" stops working and premiere locks up. I have been trying to transcode the footage from {23.986 fps 1440x1080 @1.333} -which sony likes to call 1080p even though it isnt- to a comparable format, but the only effective measures have been to downgrade the footage to 720p and the 1.5 pix aspect ratio. the client expects to see 1080p, though.
I have tried going from this format to {23.986 fps 1920x1080p @ 1.0} but it locks up in the transcode.
Help, please.
