Sony Vegas VIdeo FX- Backlight

Hi- A question for you seasoned Vegas editors...I'm editing a video in which the lighting wasn't really set correctly in the first place, and I'm trying to keep the subject in the foreground lit as is, but bring down the backlighting on the wall behind him (as this is supposed to be taking place in a somewhat darkened room at night). The subject looks great, but the wall behind him is just a little too bright for my liking and doesn't mesh with the other shots, which were lit properly. I'm pretty new to Sony Vegas and its effects, but I keep playing with the gain, and gamma, etc. but wondering if anyone has had success in the past with this kind of "fix". Thanks so much for your time! Ken

You should use the Curves plugin. This plugin allows you to modify gamma only for the darker subjects and not for the whole picture.

Helo- Thanks for the tip- I'll take a look at the color curves. I noticed before when I moved the slider down at the edge, it gave the clips a little more warmth. I started moving the actual curve and see that the closer I keep the curve to the upper right hand corner the subject seems to brighten a bit as the background stays pretty much the same. I keep playing with that and see what I can achieve. Thanks again- Ken
