Sony Vegas Pro 12 under Windows 8

I just accepted an upgrade of Sony Vegas Pro 12 today BUT I am on a new Windows 8 machine so I need some input.

Previously, on my W 7 laptop, I was able to run 4-5 simultaneous instances of Vegas Pro 12. Beyond that, things got pretty sluggish (8 GB of ram).

Now, I can only run one on a 10 GB desktop.

So, it is the upgrade or Windows 8 or neither?

From what I've tested, you need a really good GPU to start with, and it's not "better" than the previous version. I'm still running 8.0 with intermediate files.

Hard to say; too many variables. Is it that you can't open more than one, or that opening more than one cripples the system?

Oops, figured it out.

I could not start up more than one instance of Pro 12 but if you go to a file and say "open with", then you can run 5 instances and with my new processor they run about five time faster. Quite acceptable...
