Hi,

OS: Win 7 64bit
Vegas: Pro 9.0c
16GB RAM
Intel Core 2.93 GHz
QuickTime Player Version: 7.6.5

Original Footage: 1080i

If i try to render my clip using AVI PAL, i can render my 4 minutes clip in 9 minutes.

If i try to render my movie to .mov vegas crash on 30% or bring the message: vegas has stopped working.

Rendering is working very fast, but just stop on 30% :=(

Can somebody help?

try reducing preview ram to 0 in prefrences and also reducing cores from 4 to 1. Not sure if it will help you. Vegas really hates quicktime files and so do I..

There are a number of known issues with Quicktime version above 7.6.2. Many of us had to revert back to that edition to solve our issues.

But I would also ask two questions:

1. What kind of files are on the timeline. 1080i doesn't tell us much.
2. What kind of .MOV are you creating. There are literally dozens of types.

Vegas does not hate quicktime files. I use them every day without issue. But like anything else, you have to learn to use them. Vegas will choke on AVI files, MXF files, MTS files, and any other kind of file under the wrong circumstances.

Hi Everybody,

My original footage is 1080i .m2ts (Sony HD Cam HDR-XR500)

I'm trying to create:

.mov
PAL
Uncompressed
32 bpc
with sound uncompressed

Wrado's tipp works fine, but now it takes more time and i have allways to change values on editing and on rendering.
Is this the official solution on changing the video properties under options of vegas like Wrado wrote?

I could live with this solution, but I'm wondering if this is the right way. When i go to render->choose .mov and go to customize the window freeze. But only if i have choose .mov before. The Avi Window for example don't freeze. humm....

Tell me about your disk drives and RAID array. If you are trying to create uncompressed MOV, you'd better be spinning some fast disks.

This only happens with Quicktime versions above 7.6.2. It's a bug. Roll back to 7.6.2 and this will go away.
