I am working in Vegas 8.0 and in 5.1 audio. For some reason, my tracks appear distorted (in Vegas) any time I am remotely near to the 0db mark. However all of my audio files sound perfectly fine outside of Vegas (i.e. in Soundforge, playing through other audio software, etc.). Additionally, once I render my audio to create a DVD, the audio is fine again (albeit too low since I over-compensated for the distortion). The audio again sounds clear in DVD Architect. Anyone have this problem? While I "may" be able to muscle through this, it sure stinks not having a good audio reference until after you render. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks AJ
PS I also tried deleting the automatic audio plugins (compression, eq, noise gate) that Vegas applies when creating a new audio track, and that makes no difference.
