Sony Vegas 7 Output to DVD

I shot an 8 min short on the DVX100B in 24P Advanced and just finished editing it. The problem is when I burn a dvd the picture isn't as clean as when I previewed it on the computer. I outputted the short to an avi. file and then dropped into Arcitecht (spelling?) and burnt the disk. The image is not as clean as when viewed on the computer monitor. I play with the color correction tools and the image just gets noiser and almost starts to pulsate. Any ideas on if I outputted the file as a quicktime or windows media file, that I could get a cleaner image???

You should output as MPEG-2 and use one of the NTSC DV 24p templates.

You'll have to render your audio separately as AC-3, but if you save under the same file name as the MPEG-2 and into the same folder, DVD Architect will automatically link them up.

These files are exactly what DVD Architect will burn to the DVD, so it will not have to transcode the video before burning it. Using any other format -- .avi, .mov, .wmv -- and it will have to transcode, leaving you vulnerable to unexpected changes like you're seeing.
