I'm having problems rendering AF100 footage to DVD out of Sony Vegas 11. When viewing the footage from the DVD on a television or LCD TV, the footage is darker than viewing it in Vegas.
I've scoured the web and found the articles by Glenn Chan and others and it seems to have something to do with Studio RGB levels vs Computer RGB levels. I've calibrated my external preview monitor, but to no avail. I've tried setting the Preferences, Preview Device, Adjust levels from studio RGB to computer RGB, and that does affect the external monitor, but still no effect to the rendered DVD.
I've also noticed when using Magic Bullet Looks, that the studio RGB to computer RGB has no effect on the MB Looks image?
I've removed all Video Effects from the clips and rendered using DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream. The Shadow/Dark areas seem to be crushed.
Does the render process alter the 'levels' of the video?
Has anyone else run into this and discovered a solution? I'd really like to dial in the workflow and settings for editing AF100 footage with Sony Vegas and rendering to DVD. I'd also like to prepare the footage for broadcast levels.
