Sony UWP wireless "NO TONE" error

Just went through all the settings. Channel scan, high / low, blah blah blah. Research on the internet is horrible. This is such a popular mic and no one has reported on this issue really that I can see. Check it:

Basically one person says to just replace it.

It doesn't say anything about the pilot tone being switchable. So if the receiver isn't getting the tone, either the transmitter and /or the receiver need repair.
