Sony UWP Mics (DEAD AFTER FCC DIGITAL TV ACT BEGINS)

I hear my Sony UWP that use the 62-66 and 66-69 frequencies will be dead when the Digital TV act takes effect. (They are re-assigning bandwidth and taking these frequencies away to give to cell phones.)

Anyone know what to do with these paperweights?

Sony recommends "replacing" them. Great!

Sennheiser is offering to modify some of their models, but what about the Sonys? Is there anyone who knows of a private company that will be making conversions to keep them working?

Sennheiser is only modifying their mics in some countries (the UK is the only one I can think of off the top of my head); the US is not one of them.

A couple of manufacturers, including Sennheiser, are offering small rebates for 700MHz-band systems regardless of manufacturer. See http://www.sennheiserusa.com/media/pdfFiles/Pro_700MHz_Range_Rebate.pdf.
