So I have 2 SONY UWP-C1 Wireless Lavalier Microphone Packages I got a few years back. I have heard that the frequencies are no longer good? Here are the specs for the units I have.

UTX-B1 (transmitter): 62-65 (758.125-781.875MHz)
URX-P1 (tuner): 62-65 (758.125-781.875MHz)
UTX-B1 (transmitter): 66-69 (782.125-805.875MHz)
URX-P1 (tuner): 66-69 (782.125-805.875MHz)

Are these useless now in the US?

Useless, no. Illegal, yes. Unreliable, yes.

This frequency band has been auctioned off and is now being deployed by emergency services and broadband wireless. While the band is not critically populated yet, it will be and induce interference in your wireless gear. In addition, it is now a criminal offense to operate in this band, and while the chances of being busted are small, the fines are not.

Here's a link to the FCC site discussing 700mhz wireless: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones/FAQs.html

Hi,
I am in India and was thinking of buying them.I don't think they will be illegal here but I am not very sure.

I see the UTX-B1 and URX-P1 used kit going for as little as $190 on ebay usa.

Are they going at this rate because their frequency range is illegal or is this the correct price ($190 used) that they should go for ?
How much were they available for brand new during their prime period and which year were they released in ?
How are they when compared to sennheiser g2?
Thanks
