Sony rx100 mark 3: full sensor readout s16 camera

Pretty nice. It is a shame that 720p120 is pretty much reserved for still cameras and NOT for pro video cameras... :( This shares the same processor as the RX10 which has some very impressive video.

The zoom is the 35mm equivalent of 24-70mm. I would have rather had 35-105. I feel in the minority about wide angles. I prefer to hover around the "normal" focal length of 50. In rare moments maybe as wide as 35. That's because I like my shots to look natural and unassuming. Anything wider looks too distorted. But I keep reading, in different places, about how people want 28, 24, or even less. It looks unnatural, distracts the viewer, draws them out of the story and reminds them that it's a picture. It's okay every once in a while for an effect, I think, but I'm surprised wide angle photography is so popular.

I wouldn't think this is a narrative friendly camera (probably workable though). But it surely looks like the perfect travel companion. If it had any prefocus capabilities (very much unlikely) it would be perfect (for me).

I love my RX100 so I'll be looking at the MK3 when it arrives. I mostly use it as a walk around camera with images very close to 5Dmk3 and for videoing my son. I probably wouldn't use it for any pro work unless a very small and light camera is needed for a certain angle.
