Sony RX10 gets XAVC-S codec in firmware upgrade

Great news!

Wow! What a nice surprise.

I just installed the firmware and it worked well.

However, now my SanDisk Extreme PLUS 80 MB/s cards SDHC I - class 10 cards do not seem to work for video when I set it to the new codec.

I get the message: This memory card does not support recording of XAVC S movies. Change the file format or change the memory card. Refer to the instruction manual for details.

:(

Is the card not fast enough? I reformatted to ExFat, but still no luck.

Any ideas?

Argghhhh…Windows only!! Come on man! Really!! I know Sony hates Apple but….

I have not had a windows PC since 2005…..

Cheap laptop maybe?

I have a 2 camera RX10 shoot this week…..

I have used these cameras for many shoots and the
stock setting quality is excellent.

So any improvement is icing on the cake…..

Here is a video shot with 2-RX10's….
