I can't get this camera out of my mind. Where can I download a manual in English? What is the equivalent Panasonic offering? I love my Panasonic HPX-170.
There is no exact equivalent in the Panasonic line because Panasonic doesn't make a 1/2" 3-chip camera. The closest you could come is the AJ-PX270, which is a 1/3" 3MOS sensor camera with similar features. The Panasonic has a wider range zoom lens (22X versus 17X) and has the AVC-Intra 200 Mb/s mode (Sony tops out at 100 Mb/s from the specs I've seen).
A more direct equivalence is the Sony PXW-X180 versus the AJ-PX270. I considered both recently and decided to buy the Panasonic.
