Sony PSP

I REALLY want one of these.

I'm 41 years old and I just can't stop thinking about it. One thing that will sell me on it is the movie playback of our own stuff.

Anyone have one of these and use it as a video playback for finished movies? How does it work and how well does it do it??

I just spent a zillion hours on a bus touring around SoCal with my band and would have loved something other than a book, an iPod, and a dvd player.

I'd like maybe a book and a PSP. BTW -- I forced everyone in the band to watch my First Dinner movie on the bus' TV system... hehehe - it's good to be the king!

Thoughts?

Thanks,

I had one for awhile...they're pretty amazing little devices, but I just couldn't help but think 'why am I playing on a 4" screen when I could be playing on a 42" screen???"

If I traveled a lot, it would have been a different story, I'm sure.

I do travel quite a bit.

Hmmm... but no experience with adding mp4s to it?

COSTCO has them for $319US with two games I don't want. Or I can get it at the base exchange for $250 no tax.

Would it be possible to use the PSP an external monitor while shooting?

would be cool if you could because I'm gonna buy one soon..and i could also use it for shooting.

Ya know cap, I sometimes get video games on the brain as well.

Trust me, you'll buy it, play it vigerously for a while, and then it will become something of a novelty. I've got a Game Cube and an X Box sitting, rarely touched, under my TV because my roomate and I both were struck with "video game fever."

Good point!

Ok -- well... I really need to save up for a few more software upgrades. DVDSP and Compressor just died on me.

Crap.

Oh well -

Are you guys going to be affected by the BRAC? I haven't been paying really close attention, I know up here in Portland we are pretty much SOL on my end of things (939th ARW)

No -- we're good. Sorry to hear about the 939th. We were up in Portland last August playing in a park downtown-ish... lots of roses and up on a hill -- that's all I remember.

Yea, I am just a civilian employee with the unit, so I am for sure gone, its ok though because it will give me some time to focus on school! Portland is an awsome town. I can't think of what park you're talking about though......
