sony mini disc and dvx problem

I have recorded some audio using a sony minidisc player and unfortunately I haven't figured out how to get it onto my apple powerbook (another problem unto itself).

I figured I would just go from the line out from the mini disc player into the rca jacks in the dvx and record the audio in vcr mode onto a mini dv tape. Unfortunately that won't work either...anybody know why?
Thanks

I've tried it once but not with great results. It could have been the software i used though (spin doctor that comes with roxio toast.

connect the mini-disc to the powerbook's audio-in. turn on minidisc, open garage band and record from their.

I've told that bias peak is really better for this and was rec'd by someone here to try Audacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net

I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. mini-discs are hard to find in my area and i only need one to try it out and make my decision if i'm going to buy the recorder.

I made a short doc where the audio was recorded to mini-disc. A friend burned a cd of it off some deck at a radio station. I than imported that as a .wav into fcp and all was good.

Hey thanks for the response. I'll check out those pieces of software and see if I have better luck then I do with my dvx.

Thanks.
