This isn't really a FCP question but someone on here might know.
We have a Sony HVR-1500 deck that we generally use for SD mini DV playback since we're still SD. We were given some HDV tapes that were recorded with a Canon A1 in HD. When you put the tape in the deck it shows that it's an HDV tape and it starts to playback. But 8-10 seconds goes by and the screen flickers with 2 green lines on the right side then it blacks out for a second and then starts playing again. It keeps doing this over and over. Since we are all SD we are monitoring out of the SDI to a SD monitor. So it's down-converting the signal.
I feel like there is an easy answer to this like: "Canon HDV can't be played on a Sony deck." or something like that. Somebody hit me with a 2x4 if it's something like that to put me out of my misery. HA! Thanks for the help.
