I got myself the HP laptop - great laptop with 4GB Ram, 320GB Hard drive but here is the big problem - it is 64bits (Vista).
Over the weekend I downloaded Vegas Pro 8.0a. I contacted Raylight and they said that their system won't work on 64bit. I have the express card from Addonics and spent all weekend trying to get it and the P2 card to work and found out that it won't work on 64bit.
So now I have to decide what to do about it; I can either try and down grade my 64bit too a 32bit or get the Sony Laptop VGNNR498 E/W - it is 3GB Ram, 250 Hard Drive.

I'm shooting 1080i 24pa. I'm doing a short film (20 minutes) and will be starting production in Auckland in about 3 weeks from now. I need something that I can do rough edits.
I went to best buy (I'm in the US at the moment) and most of the laptops are now 64bit and only a small number of them were 32bit and they were small screens. I need at least a 15" screnn.
Thanks
