Sony FS5 Prefix

There will be a lot of FS5 threads. The sooner you can change it, the better. (Will save work later).
I can't think of any other logical place to put it.

The FS5 is actually PXW, not PMW.

The full model name is: PXW-FS5.

If no one is for splitting PMW (F5 and F55) and PXW (FS7 and FS5) cameras into two separate sections, then I suggest at least renaming the current section to "PMW & PXW Cameras" and adding the FS5 prefix as suggested.

Quite true. But this was true of the PXW-FS7 too, and no one seemed to mind.
Remember it reads PMW Cameras (and Temp FS7) implying that the FS7 has some other prefix. Dennis's suggestion is a good one.

We're already starting to get FS5 threads, and they are misarranged: under other, FS7, FAQ. Makes it hard to find them. Why not fix this?

not to be rude but "today" was four days ago.

i have been a fan of both dvxuser and bmcuser.

i know taking care of admin tasks is not glamorous and i'm sure you have more exciting, creative and lucrative tasks.

i'm just hoping, like many others, that the sony fs7/fs5 threads can be re-labelled so the communities that rely upon this valued site can share necessary info.

That would be my vote. They are all closely related. FS7 is closely related to F5, F55. FS5 and FS7 are closely related to each other.

Should be a category called Sony E-Mount Camcorders maybe?
I could see the FS700 in the same category as the FS5 and FS7 as they share the same mount and all have the FS raw.
(The FS100 would be the odd man out in this scenario).
I'm pretty sure Sony is going to release more video cameras using the e mount as well.

I agree. We are starting to see a big ramp up of FS5 entries now that the camera is released. And the volume will increase.

I have created the prefix, and changed some threads to the proper prefix. Please post links to other threads that need their prefix changed, here (assuming you are unable to change the prefix on your own threads. If you can, it is under the advanced edit options, most likely).
