Sony ES-7 SUCKS! PLEASE HELP

Has anyone used one of these who hates it as much as I do? We have two of them at our school. We are trying to convince the general manager to sell them and get Premiere machines. We have the budget but he always says, "What are you thinking! They're good machines!" One of them is broken and almost no one uses the other.

Post your feelings here. Also add your "signature" for a petition to remove the ES-7s from PCTV.

Re: Sony ES-7 SUCKS! PLEASE HELP

There are a number of reasons why I believe the ES-7 to be inferior. Following is a list:

1. not enough hard drive space for lengthy projects
2. Not true realtime
3. counter intuitive
4. No keying features
5. Horrible title program
6. total lack of useful audio capabilities
7. doesn't work well with external file formats
8. extremely loud
9. size of a small foreign car
10. doesn't support timeline gaps of less than 5 frames
11. unintelligent user interface
12. has to "create a timeline" before playback
13. slow processing of everything
14. media drives don't show up in My Computer
15. Can't delete individual clips
16. limited capturing features
17. requires too much preeroll
18. no color correction
19. can't watch clips during manual upload
20. requires a battery backup

These are only a few shortcomings of this ancient incompetent system. Remove them from the studio using force if necessary. Premier would be a far wiser choice especially since you can afford it.

Re: Sony ES-7 SUCKS! PLEASE HELP

I cannot think of any at all. Lets see the software sucks and so does the hardware... no pros that i can think of.
