Sony ECM-MS957 One-Point Stereo Microphone anyone used this?

Oh and I had one other question reguarding this mic.
the specs say that it has canon XLR out and in.
will that work with the DVX XLR?
thanks

I had an older model I used with a portable DAT for ambience recording. It was a great mic, and travelled with me around the world. I don't know how you'd use it on camera, since it's quite big and bulky, plus the one I had was side-address.

The only problem I had with it was that the cables became touchy after a while, and it distorted badly when recording something REALLY loud (like sticking in the face of an angry barking dog.)

I had a large collection of mics, but I used that for stereo recording because it was most accurate.

I see that you mean about it being big and bulky.
I didn't really notice that when I was looking at it.
also I suppose it wouldn't be quite as good as a shotgun for what I want to do.

It's definitely not a shotgun! It'll capture EVERYTHING around you in well-imaged stereo. It'll be hard to isolate a sound, for example someone speaking -- they'll be well-mixed into the background noises.
