Sony ECM 77b alternatives?

Have any suggestions for a wired lav comparable to the ECM77b, but less expensive?

The Rode lav mic sounds OK and I find the sennheiser ME2 quite acceptable too.

Just come back to ECM77 mics at the BBC in Glasgow and having used sanken COS11's for many years they still hold their own for a 30 year old mic!

Plenty of mics in the $100-250 range that sound decent. Countryman B3, Rode Lav, Tram, AT 899, the OST TL40 probably being the least expensive. Even a pigtailed 77 (no power module) would be close to $250.

Just purchased an OST 801 and it sounds great. Only around $90 when configured for a wireless transmitter, $150 or so with XLR transformer. Add about $10 for TL-40, which is round and smaller.
