If anyone has any experience with these two brands of microphones please let me know. I will be using it with a sony ecm-77b lav.
Again the shotgun mics I'm looking at are:
sony ecm-674 shotgun 399.95 cdn
or audio-technica AT897 449.00 cdn
Also an opinion about recording for a docu: Should I record my subject on one track and myself with the questions on the other? Or should I record two tracks of the subject, one on lav the other on shotgun? Or if I have a nice clean recording using one mic then just use one? Always recording in 16bit of course right?
Another question: when playing back with the camera to the t.v. it says in blue in the playback menu 32k12bit st1. Does this mean it was recorded in 32k or 48k? I'm a bit confused. Should I just ignore anything highlighted in blue?
