I found an open-box Sony DVP-FX810 Portable DVD Player at Circuit City for about $150 today. I had no idea what the ratings were on it. But I bought it anyway because of its long battery life (5.5 hours), dual headphone jacks, multiple power options (AC/DC/Car battery) and ability to swivel the monitor around and lay it flat.
I plugged my DVX in when I got home and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I'm far from a pro but think it looks pretty good. I am very happy to have this inexpensive option available to me. It also gives me the full horizontal picture - no more mics sneaking into the frame.
All I have to do now is figure out some way to mount it. Any ideas?
