Sony CLM-V55

I always felt a 7" screen was too large for my purposes, but a 5" is the sweet spot. This Sony CLM-V55 monitor seems like a good look, but I've never seen anyone using it or heard much chatter about it. I'd love to pair this with my GH4, but I'm not so sure. Anyone have any experience with this monitor?

I use it as an onboard monitor for my ACs on my F5. The great thing about it is how compact it is (doesn't get too obtrusive on the F5, which is pretty small). It does the job, but only adequately, it isn't really sharp enough to be 100% certain of critical focus, and the few monitoring options it has are a bit annoying to access.

It's totally fine for composition though. I'll relegate mine to that duty when the new SmallHD 502 comes out.

Hi Grug,

Does the CLM-V55 work on the F5 in 23.98p? As you say it would be perfect for composition and it would work for me but I'm not too sure about the F5 HDMI issue at 23.98p.

I had a CLM V55 when they first came out. If you need a simple HDMI monitor it's great for the price. My only real problem that I had with it, is that the spring loaded sunshade would sometimes go wonky and fall apart and cause me to spend a few minutes putting the springs and everything back into place.

No idea sorry, I've only used it in 25p modes.
