Sony Catalyst Browse/Prepare Metadata

I have been using Catalyst Prepare to gyro stabilize video files. I was surprised to discover that the stabilized files had the metadata removed. Only the original file has metadata such as the date/time the video was shot, along with a bunch of other missing metadata.

Am doing something wrong?
Is there a way to get the metadata transferred to the stabilized video file?
Does Sony consider this loss of metadata to be "normal" and acceptable?
 
You have only scratched the surface of the shortcomings of using Catalyst for stabilization. I'm sure there must be some people who use it, but I don't know anyone who didn't give up on it long ago. Catalyst is great for other stuff and an integral part of my workflow, but that does not include banging my head against the wall with the crude stabilization tool.
 
Agreed. I find Prepare nearly indispensable for a number of other functions, but stabilization isn't one of them. I would always do that in actual editing or FX software.
