So who is thinking about buying?
I am going to resist GAS and wait. Several things I like about it and if buying an FS7mii would be tempting to go ahead and spend the extra on the FX9. Having variable ND, FF and a baked in good color option (better than traditional Sony) are some of the desireable pluses to me. I don't have a shoulder mount camera anymore (except my NEX EA50 which is sort of one) so it would be nice to have that type camera. But overall my FS700Rs are doing just fine for the forseable future. Even if I were going to buy the FX9 soon I would wait until all those things listed as "future updates" actually happen. Seems this camera was a bit rushed out with a lot left unfinished. I wouldn't want to spend all the possible time dealing with all that. I will likely buy an FX9 in future years when the price drops.
Speaking of price drops, the FS7 has dropped today. I expect it will drop more in the future. That is what I did with the FS700...wait until they dropped nearly half of original $8000 price. Took a few years...
